PATIENT EXAM
We look forward to welcoming you into our dental family. When we first meet you, we have a short amount of paperwork that can be completed in the office 15 minutes before your appointment time or in the comfort of your home. We complete a thorough examination including a full mouth series of x-rays, oral health scan that analyzes the wear of your teeth, bite, and space in your mouth, periodontal screening for gum disease and check for cavities or broken teeth. Our goal is to be transparent and educational about your needs. Prior to completing any treatment, we will review all treatment estimates and provide financial assistance if needed.
PERIODIC EXAM
A periodic exam is for a patient that has already been to our clinic but perhaps lapsed in care for whatever reason — we get it, life can be stressful! If you haven’t been in for over a year, you may be scheduled for a periodic exam prior to your cleaning to re-evaluate the health of your gums, teeth and bone.
FLUORIDE TREATMENT
This is a quick treatment that is typically completed after polishing of your teeth. We provide a controlled dose of fluoride that is “painted” onto your teeth for them to absorb to help re-mineralized areas and ensure your teeth stay cavity free.
NIGHT GUARDS
Night guards serve to protect your teeth and prevent enamel removal, chipping, or fracturing of your teeth. A simple 3D scan is taken to make your night guard and it is typically ready to pick up the following week.
X-RAYS
Regular diagnostic X-rays allow us to detect issues that aren’t visible during a standard exam, such as early signs of decay or hidden problems. Catching these concerns early helps us provide proactive care, preventing discomfort and more extensive treatments later. X-rays are prescribed every 12 months. Initially we will take a full series to see in-between all the teeth, the bone level throughout your mouth and the apex of each tooth’s root. We do not advised skipping x-rays as the clinician’s naked eye is unable to see past the enamel, development of “quiet” infections, or the level of your bone without x-rays. If you have specific concerns, you are welcome to discuss with us individually.
